Fellow Stagg EKG vs Fellow Stagg EKG Pro
Buy the standard EKG if you prefer a clean analog dial and don't need app control. Pay the extra $20 for the Pro if Bluetooth scheduling and an LCD timer matter to your brew routine.

The Fellow Stagg EKG and EKG Pro share the same core hardware: 0.9L capacity, 1200W heating element, gooseneck spout, temperature hold, and an identical 1.1kg body. Both heat to any target between 135°F and 212°F and hold that temperature for up to 60 minutes. The spout design is identical, so pour control is equal between them.
The meaningful difference is the interface and connectivity. The standard EKG uses a minimalist analog dial to set temperature, which many users find intuitive and visually appealing. The Pro replaces this with an LCD display and adds Bluetooth, allowing you to control it through Fellow's app, set timers, and schedule morning pre-heats from bed.
For most home brewers, the analog EKG at $179 is the better value. The temperature hold works just as well, and the dial is quick to operate. The Pro's Bluetooth is genuinely useful only if you follow a precise, repeatable protocol and want to automate preheat timing.
If you're buying your first precision kettle, start with the standard EKG. Upgrade to the Pro only if you find yourself wanting scheduled starts or prefer a digital readout for accuracy confirmation.
